~Combining the best of yesterday and today by preserving our heritage
while growing with the needs of our residents, patients and families. ~

Palace Care and Rehab is a skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center located on 13 beautiful acres in the heart of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. Built on the site of the historic Palace Hotel, its heritage of genuine southern hospitality continues to be preserved through time-honored traditions.

The founders of Palace Care and Rehab were visionaries who seemed to know what people would need and want as they age.  The three large porches offer outdoor environments that are greatly used by residents and their visitors.  The front Porch overlooks The Palace Park and Salt Lick Creek.  It is not unusual to see visitors just dropping in as the front porch is so inviting.  Others may prefer the more secluded enclosed courtyard that is located on the south side.  This area is available for private picnics and gatherings.

One of the most charming aspects of the building itself is the large lobby and dining room.  With its soaring windows, light floods the room, which is a favorite of those who gather to visit with guests, keep and eye on the baby birds in the aviary or just participate in a favorite, people-watching.

The Palace is one of the few facilities in the state that offers many private rooms with a private bath, another forethought of the founders.  Private rooms are rare in today’s long term care facilities and Palace Care and Rehab is pleased to offer such accommodations.  The facility is a warm, inviting residence staffed with experienced and compassionate caregivers.  We encourage those who may be considering long term care or are in need of rehabilitation services to drop by or schedule a tour.

Palace Care and Rehab Offers a full-service rehabilitation program six days a week.

Physical therapy is available for a broad range of conditions that require this service.  These may include treatment for a s short-term acute condition such as a hip fracture or decline in indepedence brought on by an illness such as pneumonia.  There are many other ailments that may require therapy.

Occupational therapy is available for patients who are experiencing a decline in the ability to use or control the upper portion of their bodies.  A patient recovering from a stroke may require special attention to upper body strength for tasks such as wheelchair independence.  Occupational therapy is often ordered by the physician in conjunction with physical therapy and covers a broad range of conditions.

Speech and swallowing therapy are an important aspect of the rehab program at The Palace.  An emphasis on speech may be required for a person recovering from a stroke, head injury or one of many other conditions resulting in difficulty speaking.  A speech therapist is also trained to identify and treat swallowing difficulties for decline in mental status that may affect a resident’s ability to eat.

Restorative nursing services are available for residents who no longer meet the criteria for rehabilitation services.  This program is provided by a team of nursing employees who have been trained in care the prevents decline in function skills when a person has been discharged from a formal therapy program

Volunteers are important to our residents and patients.  Some prefer to assist with large group activities, some prefer to focus on individual needs.  There is always the need for more volunteers who bring their own individual talents and interests to the lives of our patients.  Pet therapy is one of the favorite volunteer activities on our full activities calendar that can be found posted within the facility.

Employees are required to update their training and education.  Some also choose to further their own education independently.  Education Fairs are a comprehensive focus on a variety of key care issues at The Palace -- a fun and interesting way to learn.  Community programs seek the opportunity to learn at The Palace.  Local nursing students learn their clinical skills at the facility.
